Navigating the Job Workspace

The job workspace holds an entire inspection, from raw photos to delivered report. What every tab does, and why you may not see all of them.

Navigating the Job Workspace

Every inspection lives inside a job workspace — one view that carries you from raw field photos to a delivered report. Once you know where things are, you stop hunting and start working.

Opening a job

From the Jobs dashboard, click any job. The URL is stable, so you can bookmark a job or send it to a colleague and they'll land in the same place:

app.aiestimatics.com/jobs/{job-id}

The tabs

The workspace has up to nine tabs. The first six are the modules, in the order the work actually happens:

#TabWhat lives there
1OverviewThe job record — property, claim, contacts, dates, status
2CaptureEvery photo, video, LiDAR scan, and attachment
3AnalyzeAI damage findings, areas, and the narrative
4GeometryFloor plans, 3D model, and per-area dimensions
5EstimateThe line-item scope and its pricing
6ReportsComposing and rendering the deliverable

Three more sit on the right and are always available:

TabWhat it does
NotesTeam notes on the job. Carries a badge with your unread count
Audit LogThe chronological record of what happened on this job and who did it
EstiThe AI copilot — ask open-ended questions about this job in context

ℹ Note

Analyze comes before Geometry. If you're used to reading it the other way around, that's the order on screen and in the workflow.

Why you might not see every tab

Two things hide tabs, and neither is a bug.

Your role. Tabs render only where your role has at least read access:

TabWho can't see it
EstimateField Inspector
Reports(everyone has at least read)

An Admin sees Analyze, Geometry, Estimate, and Reports as read-only — they open, but nothing in them can be edited. Write access there belongs to Estimator and Super Admin.

→ The full role and module matrix

The workflow type. A Quick Quote job hides Geometry and Analyze entirely — that workflow doesn't use them.

The tabs in detail

Overview

The job's own record: property address, claim and policy details, customer and contacts, job type, assignment, and dates. Some fields lock once the job moves past certain statuses — workflow type and customer type are fixed at creation, and property address, damage type, and job type freeze once the inspection is in progress.

Capture

Everything captured in the field, organized by area, syncing from the iOS app in near-real time. You can also upload from the web, mark up photos, and invite somebody outside your team to capture via FIELD Lite.

→ Capturing photos · FIELD Lite

Analyze

AI reviews your photos and proposes damage findings — type, severity, location — each tied to the photo that supports it. You confirm, correct, or add your own. Areas are approved here, and this is where the evidence coverage signal tells you where the file is thin.

On every plan. SCOPE adds the written narrative; CERTIFY adds the Intelligence tab.

→ Damage findings · Evidence coverage

Geometry

Floor plans and the 3D model from your LiDAR scans, with per-area dimensions — floor area, perimeter, wall area, ceiling height, and openings. On every plan.

→ Floor plans from LiDAR · Measurements

Estimate

The line-item scope. Flag findings with +Scope, generate the scope from them, price it with regional lookups, and export — to PDF through Reports, or as an ESX file for Xactimate.

Field Inspector has no access to this tab.

→ AI Scope Generation · Exporting

Reports

Pick a report type, and Estimatics composes the right sections and renders a PDF. Damage, Findings, Geometry, and Custom are available on every plan; Analysis, Estimate, and Complete need a SCOPE seat.

→ Report types · Custom reports

Notes

Team notes with attachments, visible to everyone with access to the job, updating live. Notes are internal — they never appear in a client-facing report unless you copy them in.

→ Adding notes

Audit Log

Who did what, when. Media uploads with their uploader, status changes, note activity, assignments, and report generation — in order.

Esti

The AI copilot, scoped to this job. Ask it questions about what's in the file and it answers from the job's own context. Requires a SCOPE or CERTIFY seat.

Frequently asked questions

Can several people have the same job open at once? Yes. The workspace is collaborative and updates live — if a colleague is uploading photos in the field, they appear without a refresh.

Can I see who made a specific change? Yes — that's the Audit Log.

Why is a tab greyed out or missing for me and not for a colleague? Role, or workflow type. See Why you might not see every tab above. It isn't a rollout.

Can I archive a job without deleting it? Set it to Closed. It leaves the active dashboard; all media, notes, and reports are preserved, and you can reopen it.

Is there a mobile version of the workspace? The iOS app is built for field capture. The full workspace — every module tab, the audit log, reports — is designed for the web dashboard on a laptop or desktop. The scheduler, the geometry editor, and the estimate builder are desktop-only.
