The most expensive gap in a file is the one you don't notice until someone else does. Estimatics tracks how complete your documentation is — area by area — and surfaces where it's thin, so you can fix it while you're still on the property.


The per-area dossier

Every area on a job carries a dossier: a running picture of what's been captured there — photo counts, findings, and the elements that make the area complete. It's assembled from the work you're already doing, not a separate form to fill out.

The completeness signal

Coverage is shown as a simple green / amber / red signal across the dimensions that matter for an area (with "N/A" where a dimension doesn't apply):

  • Green — this area looks well documented.
  • Amber — something is thin or ambiguous; worth another look.
  • Red — a real gap; capture more before you scope or submit.

Each flag comes with a short hint about what's missing, so you know exactly what to shoot next.

Why "200 photos" isn't the answer

Volume isn't coverage. Two hundred photos of the same wall still leave the ceiling undocumented. The coverage signal is about whether the right evidence exists for each area — not how many images you took. It's the difference between a full memory card and a defensible file.

Using it in the field

  1. Work the red areas first — those are the gaps most likely to be questioned.
  2. Follow the hint: capture the missing angle, the missing room, the missing detail.
  3. Re-check amber areas before you leave.
  4. Treat green as "looks complete," then spot-check anything high-value.

The whole point is timing: it's cheap to fix a gap while you're standing in the room, and expensive to explain one weeks later. Build the file for the review that happens later.
